The multiple awards received from MUNDUS vini 2017 and the title of China winery of the year from the 2017 Berlin International Wine Competition is a testimony and a hallmark year for Puchang. A worldwide recognition of our continual efforts as we strive to deliver high quality organic wines to the rest of the world.
Turpan is located in the heart of Xinjiang near the Tianshan Mountains Basin, also known as the “Fire Island”. With latitude of 41 ° to 43 ° N, Puchang vineyard shares the same latitude with some of the best wine-making regions in the world.
The Puchang story began in 2008 when Mr. K.K. Cheung, an entrepreneur from Hong Kong, decided to dedicate his passion and effort in producing the best wines from Xinjiang, aiming to change the world’s perception on winemaking in China.
Today, it is extremely rewarding to see Puchang wines obtaining awards at a number of international wine competitions whilst Xinjiang’s viticulture has gained much recognition by international wine experts.
At Puchang, high quality wines are produced on the basis of our deepest respect to Mother Nature and local traditions, as well as our passion for green living.
We work closely with local farmers, learning their wisdom and sharing with them new knowledge on organic farming and winemaking to ensure sustainable development of the entire wine region. We work through ecological processes, using only organic, non-chemical substances to farm local grape varieties and produce premium quality wines with low level of sulphites.

Grape Varieties
Located in the heart of Xinjiang, near the Tian Shan Mountain, Puchang Vineyard shares the same latitude with some of the best wine-making regions in the world. Comprising of five carefully selected plots, a total of approximately 67 hectares, the location of Puchang estates share the same latitude with some of the best winemaking regions in the world.
We strive to work through ecological processes, using only organic, non-chemical substances to produce premium quality wines with low level of sulphites. Puchang vineyard is proud to have received organic certifications from ECOCERT, an independent organization that specializes in the certification of organic agricultural products since its creation in 1991. The organization approves and certifies the compliance of products, systems or services with the organic standard in more than 90 countries, setting a benchmark in organic certification worldwide.
Pesticides, Herbicides or Viral Contamination Free. Under the unqiue climate in Turpan Valley, pests barely survive in our vineyard. None of our wine grapes contain pesticides, herbicides or viral contamination.
A beautiful blend of 30 year old Rkatsiteli vines and Italian Riesling. Puchang’s first Rkatsiteli vintage is 2014. After picking, the grapes are individually crushed and pressed, fermented at a low temperature 40% in stainless steel tanks and 60% in wooden barrels. Making a joyous fresh green taste, balanced clean acidity, minerals and a slight hint of spice.
Uniqueness: Refreshing and fragrant
Average vine age are over 30 years old, crushed and fermented then soaked for a longer period for extended flavours. Afterwards, the Beichun is split into half, placed in new and old wooden barrels for 12-24 months of clarifying before bottling. A full-bodied yet elegant wine with exquisitely sumptuous aroma of rose, dark berries on the palate and strong tannins.
Uniqueness: Chinese grape developed by the Chinese Academy of Science
Carefully selected the best of Cabernet Sauvignon to ensure the best ripeness and tannins. After fermentation in stainless steel tank, it is split into half, placed in new and old wooden barrels for 16 months of clarifying before bottling, aged for one year before launch. Limited to 10,000 bottles annually. Rich and full bodied, silky smooth texture with strong aromatic notes of red fruits, herbs and a long complex finish.
Uniqueness: Vigorous full body.
After tasting a bottle of wine made by Puchang, Mr. K.K. Cheung, an entrepreneur from Hong Kong, was astounded by its quality and decided to dedicate his passion and effort in producing the best wines from Xinjiang, aiming to change the world is perception on winemaking in China.
Loris majored in chemistry, with a master degree in winemaking from Siena University, Italy. His career as a winemaker started in 2004. In his itinerant winemaking experiences from USA to New Zealand passing by South America, South Africa and Europe, he has acquired a deeper understanding of what is needed and required by various consumers.
William graduated from University of Montpellier, France with a Masters degree in viticulture and enology. He has been working in vineyards around the world, recently in small estates that specialize in organic growing. Having studied Mandarin, we greatly appreciate his ability to communicate with our local staff and value his technical knowledge in winemaking.
